This workshop was designed for parents to learn more about the justice system and how it impacts their youth. Our youth are dealing with a myriad of challenges at school, at home, in public, and it’s important for parents to understand the issues that young people are facing.
Sawmill Creek Social Services (SCSS) hosted this important workshop with Ottawa Police Constable Abdul Kadir Abdi. In the training he enlightened the parents on what they needed to know in regards to:
Parents learning to change and adapt themselves to the reality and present day environment which will allow them to be better equipped in dealing with these challenges.
Parents understanding their legal responsibilities in relation to their youth is a must.
Parents knowing which resources are available for them to use.
